The Vegan Kind beauty box review

August 29, 2018

What could possibly be better than a box of new vegan goodies arriving at your door every month? Not much really, which is why vegan box subscriptions such as The Vegan Kind have become hugely popular over the last couple of years. The idea behind the subscription box is you pay a monthly fee and each month a new package of vegan treats shows up at your house – think vegan snacks, sweets, household products, books, etc. It’s a great way to try out new products that you may not have heard of or would be hesitant to buy without first giving it a go.

In addition to the lifestyle boxes, TVK also offer a beauty box that includes a mix of skincare, cosmetics and beauty products delivered every two months. TVK were very kind to send me a box with their latest samples, and receiving it was like getting a present on Christmas morning – so exciting!

Everything is beautifully put together, from the vibrant pink and blue design on the outer box, to the lovely message on the inside about guilt-free, cruelty-free pleasures. In the August box there were six different products which included:

  • Miss Patisserie Watermelon Bath Slab
  • Sukin Paw Paw Ointment 25ml
  • Harpers Candles Sweet Pea Soy Wax Candle
  • Rawganic The Pure Hydrating 3-in-1 Facial Wipe
  • GlitterEyes Goddess Glow ‘GlowUp’ Highlighter
  • Utan and Tone Tan Gummies

Of all the items, I was most excited to try the new facewipes as I have been looking for a gentle, vegan, CF makeup remover for a while, and I can confirm these are just lovely. The other item that really surprised me were the tanning gummies – what a novel idea! I can’t say if they work yet or not (I’ve only been eating them for a few days), but they taste pretty yummy so it’s a win for me either way. The only item I’m not crazy about is the candle just because the smell is a bit too sickly sweet for me.

The great thing about the TVK beauty box is that you can choose different subscription options, so you won’t get tied into a long contract if you don’t want to. However, if you do sign up for a year you will get the best savings, at £12.75 per box + £3.15 p&p. And if you think about it, £16 for a box that had over £45 worth of stuff is a real bargain! Plus, if there’s anything you really like in one of the boxes, you’ll be able to find it on TVK’s online shop.

My only gripe? I wish the box had been a little bigger so I could get a picture of my cat sitting in it!
